Version 1.48 The Steampunk Release
Incremental Releases:

Thaum here with more erotic goodness.

We've actually had a bit of a problem this month... but it's a good problem to have. Our writers are actually producing more content than we've actually been able to implement! The main problem is that writing by itself is faster than doing the work to implement it into the game in our current workflow.

You see, beyond the words in each scene, there's the formatting and adding in logic. From simple things like parser calls to account for the player's body or have word variety, to branching choices and differences based on the player character. Writing openings leading into the content, and the needed code entries to launch the scenes (it all depends on the scene, it could be really easy like adding it to a set of existing events... or might require additions to a map location).

Plus you've gotta check to make sure it doesn't repeat constantly and whatever else. Add in QA because they obviously aren't as familiar with the setting, finding images/art to go with it, and whatever else, and it adds up. Honestly, we're both so used to doing everything all at once when we add content that it was a bit of a surprise. Basically, we were looking at the total time a scene takes, rather than splitting it up.

But thankfully, this is a temporary problem. There's a variety of ways to streamline the process especially as the code cat adapts to just doing the implementation, and a lot of improvement will happen as Ren and Angelie get more familiar with how everything works. There are a lot of tricks to structure scenes in a way that is easier to implement, for example. So while they're still learning for now, I have to admit that the words they're creating are pretty great (and spicy too, lol).

On to other exciting news, the hiatus on Chained Ether has finally ended! As part of that, we've actually hired a new developer (Iggy) to help out with it. There's actually a whole big update on it here with a lot of information. We're pretty excited about it!

As for what we've got for you this month, it's a hucow smorgasbord. Plenty of stuff all over the place in the hucow space, at work and during your off time. And a bunch more waiting to get implemented in the next release.

As for the change log... well, I've tried to go with the "Besty Style" this month. He's incredibly terse about everything, in contrast to my rambling and laying out all the details. Part of me says that this is the way to go, compared to spending hours writing out all the details each month... But part of me also knows that details can be useful too. So maybe a compromise of some kind in the future? We'll see.
