We've got yet another huge release for you this month. Even though it's not record-breaking in terms of word count like 1.55 was, it's still got about 75,000 new words. This one has a lot more meat in the game/code department.
The star of the show is the reworked skill system. It's a pretty big change, so we'll keep working on it over the next few months (most of the work is done, but there's a lot of necessary followup). Please take a moment to check out the cautionary note.
Otherwise, we've got changes to fertility goddess, a large expansion of the deliberate start, medical knowledge, an easter egg hunt event, a big whoring expansion, and more.
Thanks to everyone for supporting and playing Accidental Woman, you mean the world to us!
ThaumX ~ Your faithful erolich
Just as a followup, the whyf just had surgery this week for the boob cancer. She's doing well, and we'll be starting in on the radiation and whatnot soonish.
Change Log
Fertility Goddess Changes
- There has been a change to the way the Fertility Goddess and Fertility Storm mutations are gained.
- Mutations have been renamed as blessings to better match what they actually are.
- Effects of the mutations are the same, though with some minor improvements on how fertility improvement is implemented.
- Blessings now increase fertility skill up to a certain level. (20/35 raw)
- Mutations are no longer gained automatically. This was a sort of long-intended but never actually done change.
- To gain these mutations, you must now pray to the Goddess at her statue/shrine.
- The statue is located at the Visitor Center on the world map.
- This allows characters to be very fertile without being forced into these mutations, particularly the stronger one that gives a lot of extra knowledge about the character's reproductive system.
- Goddess Statue - Provides a little more control in how you obtain blessings.
- There are three options when visiting the statue, one is to say a quick prayer, another is to pray "properly". (The last is to just leave.)
- The quick prayer option will grant the player the Fertility Blessing (Fert Storm) mutation if they qualify to get the Goddess Blessing (Fert Goddess).
- Allows players to still get improvement even if they don't want the full blessing with accompanying extra effects.
- Characters that don't meet the requirements will get general messaging to help guide them.
- The proper prayer option will grant the best blessing the character qualifies for.
- Characters meeting the goddess blessing reqs will get that blessing.
- Characters meeting only the fertility blessing reqs will get that one instead.
- Characters that meet neither can recieve an increase in fertility (avg of 1 score step, up to score 5.)
- The quick prayer option will grant the player the Fertility Blessing (Fert Storm) mutation if they qualify to get the Goddess Blessing (Fert Goddess).
- Goddess statue has a neat image, with a fun effect when you pray.
- Two different prayers and different text depending on how things go.
- There are three options when visiting the statue, one is to say a quick prayer, another is to pray "properly". (The last is to just leave.)
- Requirements Changes.
- Obtaining either mutation no longer requires the twin wombs (or merged wombs) mutation.
- Fix to cup size req for Fertility Blessing to properly match "F Cup". (unintentionally allowed large E cup previously).
- Maintenance mechanic occuring overnight generally works the same way, but applies changes from losing a blessing better.
- Can no longer gain the mutations overnight by meeting their requirements.
- Will reduce the goddess blessing to fertility blessing if the character still meets the requirements for fertility blessing.
- Note: The player can visit the statue to regain mutations they lost as long as they meet the requirements.
New Skills and Attributes system
- The game's skill system has been completely redone.
- Skill checks now work differently, being more predictable and reliable without being completely static.
- Skill levels are now set up to be automatically adjusted based on a number of factors, such as your character's Attributes, status, and any ongoing effects.
- The way skills are learned has been updated, but follows a similar pattern of gaining points by practice (skill checks) and education (attending classes).
- There are now 20 standard skills (previously 18, only 16 of which were visible at character creation).
- Some skills have been renamed to better match what they represent.
- Some skills have been merged or otherwise adjusted to serve their purpose better.
- Some are entirely new, such as the "Medicine" and "Fertility" skills.
- Alteration and expansion of pseudo skills (sometimes called "derived skills" previously).
- Various activities like pole dancing, stripping, or performing first aid are covered by pseudo skills.
- Now a more nuanced blend of base skills and attributes, and more visible to the player.
- New DESIRE attribute system representing the basic attributes of your character.
- Discipline, Empathy, Spectacle, Intellect, Reaction, and Elegance. As expected from long gaming tradition, this is a bacronym.
- Attributes have effects on effective skill level, the rate you learn skill points in dependant skills.
- Works with standard skills in the function of pseudo skills.
- Provides more "surface area" to have effects on your character based on your actions. Some examples: a drug like Zone boosting attributes temporarily (or draining them in withdrawal), being sleep deprived, or being heavily pregnant with giant tits lowering your physical abilities.
- New Encyclopedia Entries!
- I'm not going to the huge amount of details about how things work and what they mean here... but there are new entries in the game encyclopedia that explain things thoroughly.
- Entries on Attributes, Skills, how skill checks work, and how to earn skill points (with some tips/strategy).
- The systems are intended to be useful and provide gameplay opportunities (such as differentiating your character), without being something that you absolutely have to dedicate effort to.
- Easier difficulties have a little easier skill checks, and can gain skills faster.
- Some skills like the medicine skill provide special effects like revealing more about what a consumable does.
- Important note: The new system is fully functional, but tie-ins to other systems (like the planned "effects" system that goes with transformatives) are not complete. Unique skill magazines and books mentioned in the encyclopedia haven't been added yet. These will be filled in as we go along.
- Brand-new skill display in the character menu. Also shows Attributes and Pseudo Skills.
- It shows the effective skill level and base level, with a color indication to see at a glance if the skill is currently adversely or positively affected.
- New Backgrounds in character creation.
- Consolidated to six options. (6 each unique options for both male and female starts)
- More descriptive of what the background represents, rather than just a random job title. Fits a lot better immersion-wise.
- "Free Spirit" option that trades assigned skill points for additional spendable points (at the cost of reduced total points).
- New skill point mechanics in character creation.
- Spending points is no longer affected by the stats of your newly-created character.
- The assumption is that your character learned those skills before their new body would have affected things.
- Provides a more balanced/fair approach to earning points regardless of how your new character is.
- Default assigned points are likewise no longer impacted by character creation choices.
- Female start characters get more assigned skill points to appropriate skills, but fewer free points to spend.
- The idea is that they have more practice at being a woman, so naturally would higher stats in things like grooming (makeup, etc) and similar.
- They also have had a shorter life, so have spent less time learning random (spendable) skills.
- Specifically, FS chars will have 20 more points total than MS before backgrounds are applied.
- Male start characters get 50% more points from their background selection. They've had longer careers, after all.
- The total difference in skills after all things are considered is only 10 points in favor of male start.
- Female start characters are much less penalized in the skill department than previously, but maintains the feeling of a younger person by having fewer choosable points.
- Spending points is no longer affected by the stats of your newly-created character.
- New skill point assignment menu. Functionally it does the same thing (let you spend points).
- New randomization options that allow you to randomize unspent points, or totally randomize points.
- An option to do auto-assignment that spends points for you in a logical way. For those that want reasonable results without fiddling with skill points.
- This option takes a generalist approach rather than focusing on raising key skills for certain job or playstyle.
- BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY:
- Older saves will still work, the backward compatibility system will update the character's skill information.
- There is a rough mapping of old skills into new skill system.
- Not exactly totally sensical as some skills are averaged together to get some kind of value for new skills that don't correlate.
- Should result in having a reasonable level of skill matching your character.
- Attributes will be set to all 5s (neutral effect).
- CAUTIONARY NOTES:
- Skills touch most aspects of the game, so there's a good chance that you may run into some weirdness.
- Not game-breaking, but could be awkward like the skill checked not being the best fit, or a check that seems too hard/easy, etc.
- Please let us know if you encounter any of this!!!
- Seriously, something big like this is beyond our ability to test alone.
- Don't worry about bugging us with duplicate info or things that might actually be intended.
- Feel free to leave your opinions on the new system too :)
- Skill progression, check, and other mechanics ARE going change!
- As mentioned earlier, some planned tie-ins such as effects and drugs will have some significant effects on how the system plays.
- Balancing and tuning of mechanics and probabilities is expected, this is currently a "starting point".
- Certain mechanics mentioned in the encyclopedia are disabled or limited until basic balancing is complete.
- In particular, the way attributes limit or enhance skill gaining caps and odds.
- We want to balance basic progression before adding in complications.
- In particular, the way attributes limit or enhance skill gaining caps and odds.
- With how widely skills tie into the game, it isn't feasible to provide a "use the previous system" option... sorry.
- If it is giving you problems, trying an easy or fap difficulty can help.
- Skills touch most aspects of the game, so there's a good chance that you may run into some weirdness.
Medical Knowledge
- The Medicine skill now unlocks information about various consumables and treatments.
- Currently limited to inventory items. Will apply more broadly in the future
- there's a ton of procedures and transformatives and all that, so it's a lot of work lol
- Currently limited to inventory items. Will apply more broadly in the future
- Reveals more accurate and/or detailed information about things than supplied by default in the descriptions.
- Multiple levels of knowledge possible for each item, so you can learn more with higher skill.
- Starts to reveal more info about potential mutations, overdose effects, and the like that formerly would require more exploration/testing to find.
- Some cases use the Fertility skill instead of medicine (or a mix) as appropriate, largely the fertility-specific items.
- Information is revealed based on effective skill level. temporary boosts or penalties can change what is visible.
- written in a in-universe perspective from your character, not just a lists.
School Stuff
- Skill learning at schools adjusted for new skill mechanics.
- Schools (and books) no longer use the old system of earning skills that matches the skill checks
- Has some unique mechanics and is more productive than skill checks.
- Eager Breeders club now teaches fertility skill.
- Oppaido Dojo is now a fixed non-mod school. (still located in the Redlight Education Center in NW Downtown)
- Teaches the Fighting skill.
- If you have a custom auto-load mods file, you'll want to redo it to remove the oppaido mod.
- New Nurse Education Group school.
- Located at Redlight Education Center in NW Downtown
- Has a variety of classes focusing on the Medicine skill.
- Specific class content has not yet been implemented, though classes are functional.
- We'll likely add a some more schools/clubs and classes to better cover the new skills and fit better with the new progression system.
New Easter Egg Hunt
- After many questions about how to find easter events related to the popup on the first day of the game (which happens to be Easter), and a bout of inspiration or perhaps productive procrastination... there is now an Easter egg hunt!
- Travel to the town square (just north of City Hall downtown) to participate!
- Must take part before 5:30 PM Easter Sunday, otherwise you can play the event whenever you want.
- Can only be done once.
- Takes an hour.
- Lot of photoshoppery and nice images to go along with the event.
- Quite a bit of content (about 8,000 words) as you traipse about Central Park in search of eggs.
- Aside from the fun of the event, you can choose whether to collect each of the eggs you find.
- Some eggs have special effects. Details (highlight to read):
- First: No special effects.
- Second: comes with a big load of cum.
- Third: Is chonky and stretches you out, awards 30 credits.
- Fourth: Provides a dose of OvuMax (and some cum).
- Fifth: Injects 8 zygotes into your womb, which can implant with time and become a pregnancy.
- Some eggs have special effects. Details (highlight to read):
- You can optionally accept a bunny butt plug that vibrates when you get close to an egg.
- You can keep this sex toy after and continue using it as a normal butt plug.
- Will make sure your character finds the second egg, which you can miss if you are oblivious or have poor discipline.
- Getting the 4th or 5th eggs are mututally exclusive. Taking the fourth means running out of time to find the fifth.
- You can complete the whole event without getting any eggs if you want. There is no real reward or penalty to the event beyond any special feature of the eggs.
- You can't win the competition against skilled Appletree women.
Deliberate Start Expansion
- Following on from last month, there's been another huge expansion of the deliberate start to complete the segment before character creation.
- Lot of content, with more choice about how you progress.
- This now clocks in at 80,000 words total. That's the first Harry Potter.
- This content is spread out across different choices though, so a single run through isn't nearly so long as a whole book. ;)
- A bunch of new art/images to go along with the content of course.
- Many more images showing progression of growth in the chest area
- Updates and improvements of some earlier art as well.
- Several new Lily/sex scene arts
- All that's left to do is the post-creation segment.
- Needs a a NPC/Romance expansion to really do justice, but we'll get the base down before that.
- Lily grows bigger nuts during the prolog.
- There's a lot I could say about the specifics... but I think it's better if you just play it.
Some Other Character Creation Improvements
- Improved a few items in character creation, nothing that major.
- The trait selection tab is a lot less wonky.
- Easy to Please, Hard to Please, and Sensitive Nipples selection has been moved to the pussy and tits tabs respectively.
- A little better explanation, and it just fits better with those places as physical attributes rather than kinks.
- These traits are no longer shown in the kinks area in menus, now appearing with the physical body stuff.
- Some formatting work on a few items to improve appearance and make it a little less susceptible to screen size issues.
Jobbing Changes
- Skill use in job performance and promotion has been tweaked.
- Difficulty, progression speed, and some other minor changes to improve things.
- Some jobs have had their skills changed to better fit the work involved.
- For example, Progenerate Fecundate Division now uses the Fertility skill, and S.P.E.R.M. uses the Medicine skill.
- A Better info on skill requirements when choosing a job.
- A full list instead of only primary skills used.
- Indication of character suitability based on skills, so choosing a job is easier.
- Hiring has been changed.
- Skill checks are no longer used to earn you a higher starting rank.
- Characters with good matching skills start a single rank ahead.
- This is to avoid the situation of lucky skill checks putting you at a level you aren't prepared for.
- Also makes experiencing rank-based content more uniform instead of potentially missing early content or getting later content too early in game-time.
Medicine Knowledge Boost.
- Preliminary use of the medicine skill to determine effects of medical treatments has been implemented.
- Consumable medications in your inventory can now have additional descriptive detail about their effects if your skill is high enough.
- Different levels of information are possible depending on skill.
- First level reveals info about the specific intended effects.
- Second level reveals info about chance or overdose-based special effects like mutations.
- Information has NOT been added to treatments obtained directly (such as at Gestique) yet.
- I figure this general mechanic is going to be useful once we bite into the Transformative Expansion.
Visitor Center Changes
- Shrine added to the visitor center.
- Short activity to relax in the plaza added (just to give more to do to the location.)
- The history exhibit in the visitor center has been overhauled and expanded significantly.
- Lot more information about the Anjiko and general history of Muschi Valley.
- Several extra images of the exhibit to match.
Fixes and Minor Changes
- Issue with sleep processing occuring during the prolog has been fixed.
- Issue with NPC Generator settings menu being weird or not working has been fixed.
- Dialog font changed, colors for dialog tweaked to be paler.
- Fixed issue where parser almost always said character was filthy in the menus.
Barren Bottoms Liberation!
- Three more meetings added, the journey continues and gets spicy.
- Additional options to do your homework in the masturbation menu after the third and the fourth meetings.
- Many many options to choose from along the scenes. Some subtle some not.
- 77 000 characters worth of butt-centered content. Yeaah, butts!
Whoring massive expansion!
- Many new scenes, mostly oral with various kinky variations.
- Doctor\patient, degradation, age play, watersports, pretended romance and whatnot.
- 80 000 chars and more to come.
Sydney the fling!
- A third scene which is a jog in the park.
- 30 000 characters of pure lesbian romance. I know you would like it.
Sex toys system changes.
- Added sex toys buttons to the "Actions" menu.
- New block in the inventory menu for better organization.
Bugs
- Should be less of them than we had previously.
